Poetry Open Call:
The Sunday Mornings at the River Poetry Diary 2027
The seasons hold us whether we notice them or not. They mark the years of a life the way nothing else does, the cold that arrives every winter, the light that comes back every spring. They shape what we grieve, what we survive, what we grow toward. Every year, this diary asks poets to write from inside that shaping, not to describe a season from the outside, but to let it move through the poem the way it moves through a life.
For the Sunday Mornings at the River Diary, I am not looking for poems that mention a season in passing. I am looking for poems that sit inside one, where the season is not backdrop but body. The heat, the rot, the frost, the first green thing. Send me the poems only you could write about the season that shaped them.
Up to three poems, one page each, in a single document, along with a tiny biography of four sentences or fewer. Full details and the submission form are below.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
Up to 3 poems, all in one document
Include a short 4-line bio in the same document
Poems will be edited in UK English with standard punctuation and capitalisation
Our editor works with her energy, not with deadlines.
